Waynetown - Chancie C. Ellis, of Waynetown, died at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday at his home in Waynetown where he had lived the past 9 years. He had been sick for a number of years and seriouly ill since July when he entered Culver Hospital. He returned home Saturday. He was a meat cutter in Indoanapolis for a number of years before coming to Fountain and Montgomery counties as a farmer. He was also a school bus driver in Wayne Township for several years. He was born Oct 2, 1889, the son of Robert and Minnie Riley Ellis. He married Ellora Switzer Feb 13, 1913 in Crawfordsville. Ellis was a member of the Ridge Farm Church. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Gretchen at home; a sister, Mrs. Fred Hudson of Sarasota, FL; a brother, Virgil of Ladoga and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mrs. Stella Keeling and a brother George Ellis. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Rev. Guy E. Tremaine will be in charge of the service. Burial will be at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.

Waynetown – Chancie C. Ellis, 75, died in his home Wednesday. He had been in ill health several years.  He became seriously ill in July and entered Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. He had just returned home Saturday. Mr. Ellis was born in Fountain County and married Ellora Switzer in 1913 in Crawfordsville. He was a meat cutter for a number of years in Indianapolis before returning to Fountain and Montgomery counties as a farmer. He also served as a school bus driver in Wayne Township of Montgomery County. He had lived in Waynetown for nine years.
